Al’z Place is a program of ElderCare of Alachua County. The center provides therapy and recreational activities for people 18 and older, while also giving their caregivers a respite. It is one of only three medical daycare facilities in the state for people with Alzheimer’s disease and memory disorders.

The fundraiser event begins at 7 p.m. at University Air Center, which is located north of 39th Avenue in the general aviation section of Gainesville Regional Airport.

Anthony Clarizio, ElderCare of Alachua County director, said the event helps Al’z Place provide client-centered programs and therapeutic opportunities that are not covered by state funding.

“We’re fortunate to have a center like this for adults in our community, and I think that we should do everything we can to maintain these valuable services,” Clarizio said.

Guests can enjoy signature martinis and food from local restaurants. They can also bid on original paintings during the art auction.

Purchase Moonlight and Martini Tickets

Individual tickets cost $75, while a table of 10 with a company display sign costs $700. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 352-265-9040.

ElderCare of Alachua County provides rich and enjoyable programming for seniors in the regional area at the new Senior Recreation Center. The building was completed during the summer of 2011 and is the first of its kind in the area. It features nine classrooms, a teaching kitchen, a large multi-purpose room available for rent, a courtyard and patio, fitness room and computer lab.
